Artist Statement:

I have been playing with clay since childhood. I feel so grounded when working with the earth. I am a mover and express myself through clay. My mentor Artist Helen Burke from UAHC Camp Swig would say “continue to make mud pies.” To stay spiritually connected to Judaism, I create ceramic Judaica to joyfully celebrate the holidays.

Living in Israel for 20 years, I had my first solo ceramic show at Kibbutz Mishmar Haemek. In Marin, I have had three solo art shows and exhibited in numerous group exhibitions.

During a summer visit back home to my kibbutz, I was overwhelmed and shocked by the horrific tragedies which occurred on October 7, 2023. At the airport, I was shocked into reality, seeing posters of all the hostages. Throughout our visit, the horrors of October 7th haunted me. We visited the settlements surrounding Gaza, saw the Nova festival site, the Auto wreckage Memorial, the burnt pelleted homes destroyed , the sites of the mass murder of our people. We visited Hostage Square in Tel Aviv with the long table set and posters marking each hostage. When visiting the surrounding Gaza communities, and witnessing the devastation, I felt compelled to respond and to speak out, and to honor the victims for the One Year Memorial Event.
